Rock Springs Conservation Area features the Sangamon River, nine miles of trails for hiking and cross country skiing, a nature center, art exhibits, pavilions, and hands-on programs.

Housing over 400 animals and offering a petting zoo, carousel, train, and playground, Scovill Zoo is a fun outing for the whole family. Enjoy scenic landscapes and lush greens at the Red Trail Run Golf Course and Driving Range.

Celebrations and Events

Decatur is a beautiful place to celebrate Independence Day. The city hosts the Pied Piper Parade that invites everyone to make a float and prance.

That night everyone flocks to Lake Decatur to see a fantastic firework display. The Prairie Pedal is an annual bicycling event hosted by Macon County that raises funds for local wildlife.
